15mm Black Orcs or Great Orcs

The Black Orcs or Great Orcs are a tribe of large fierce Orcs who rely on their size and strength to crush their enemies and cause fear in smaller Orcs and Goblins.

This tribe is made up of large warbands, mass bow and hard hitting boar riders.

The reinforcements to the Black Orc Tribe.

 More Heros and Leaders

 The Warbands

The mighty War Boar Riders, the shock arm of the Black Orcs, which are all pretty shocking anyway

Just to show how mighty the Black Orcs are I have placed them next to some Empire Swordsmen, 15mm Old Glory Renaissance.

These figures will join a few more warband and bow bases at home to make the mighty Black Orc Tribe!

On The Painting Table

So this work rotation I will mainly be painting 15mm fantasy.

To start with a touch up and re-base of a some Blood Dawn Orcs, these are very large and chunky figures but work great for 'Black Orcs' or 'Great Axes'

Black Orcs

The real 'Stormtroopers' of any Orc and Goblin Horde these Black Orcs are big, well armed and just a little pissed with anything that is not Orc, even some poor goblins have ended up on the wrong end of a Black Orc BBQ skewer.........

The first out of the stock-hold  is a unit of Black Orc boar riders, big beasts on big beasts, ideal for smashing headlong into an enemy front line.

Now we give the big beasts on big beasts big, pointy sticks.  Surely these would cause havoc to any mounted foe that happen to be unfortunate enough to be on the sharp end!

'Arras' not really a Block Orc weapon a choice but it's good to have options or so the Warboss thought.

Lastly 3 bases of brutes that actually get to grips with their dinner, i mean enemy.
An excellent choice for any raving mad Warboss when it comes to sheer force of arms.

These are Blood Dawn figures and are lovely, yes very big for 15mm but it's fantasy and in this case size does matter!
I am now growing a healthy tribe of Black Orcs and can't wait to let the off the leash soon!

More Troops Ready for Battle

More of the finished elements that I have done.

Two bases of Acolytes, these could be double hatted and used it at least two of my armies The Demon Army and the Stygian Army.
The figures are Demonworld from their Ishtak range

More of the awesome Black Orcs, three bases worth of the large imposing figures by Blood Dawn. They are great miniatures and the Black Orc tribes form the shock troops of any good Orc Warlords horde.

Orc Crossbow, a basic missile unit able to give the Orcs a little stand off capability not that they stand off much.  Could be useful to soften up the defenders of Human and Dwarf field fortifications or disrupt Human and Elf cavalry.
These are Demonworld figures

More 'Black Orcs'

Here are the latest batch of my ever expanding 15mm Fantasy, the only scale to play out these epic struggles'.

Saying that these figures are about 18mm and quite stocky, hence Black Orcs or Great Orcs.

The models themselves are from the Blood Dawn range supplied by Magistar Militair.  They are lovely models and paint up very well.

In this batch we have 2 1/2 infantry units and 1 wild boar unit.

They are based on 80mmx40mm and 2 bases to a standard unit.

Personally I favour the fan generated Hail Caesar Fantasy rules, the Hail Caesar rules themselves are very good and easily adapted to the fantasy genre.  However they could happily be used in many rule systems that do not require individual or element removal.

A little word about the bases, they were bought from Tiny Tin Troopers and come pre magnabased and they are just great. The cost of the bases works out the same when compared with buying pre cut bases and magnetic strips yourself!  Well worth the money.

Black Orcs.....15mm Fantasy

Ok, for the first time in ages my real love 15mm FANTASY!!!!

These are a few bases of 'Black Orcs' , they are big, bad and nasty melee troops.
The miniatures are from the Blood Dawn range, sold by Magister Militar.
The casting are very sharp with a good level of details.  They are 15-20mm in size, hence the Black Orc tag I will be giving them.

They will be based on 40x40mm bases, this is just for the 'look' rather than a rules set designation.
The they will be used for fighting mass battles using Hail Sauron, Hail Caesar fantasy version or Kings of War, which a couple of guys at PAW are interested in playing in 15mm

Sorry about the quality of the pictures, I am away from home working and using my IPhone, need to start packing a camera!
More pics once they are based and had a matt spray coat on, 'less shiny'!!
