15mm Punic War Project

Italian allies and Gallic chariots.  Etruscan citizen hoplites, these can be used as allies for both the Punic state and Rome itself.
The Gallic chariots, not really used in the Punic Wars but very useful for Gallic tribes against Rome or Carthage or indeed against each other.

Above and below the Etruscan citizen hoplites.  These form heavy foot units.
The figures are War and Empire and the shield decal are Little Big Man

Gallic chariots, I do like these and quite quick to paint.  I'm not sure of the make of these but I think they are a mix of War and Empire and Corvus Belli

15mm Punic War Project

Found time to add to own collections.  This time the ever expanding 2nd Punic War project.

The first two pictures are off Punic Citizen cavalry and two figures for a command stand.  These are Corvus Belli figures as is the majority of my Punic citizen force.

24 Gallic warriors, these will form two 'heavy' warbands 'Soldari'  The figures are from War and Empire

Gallic chariots, not really 2nd Punic Wars but very useful for fighting Romans anyway.
One chariot is Corvus Belli the other War and Empire

Punic Wars Project-Gauls

More Gallic skirmishers this time with bow.  I will have far too many skirmishers but they may come in useful in an inter Gallic tribal war.....or as allies for the  evil 'want a be' empire, the Romans.

These guys are for two bases of warband, these would be the 'medium foot' style of warband.  The figures are from the now, sadly OOP, Corvus Belli range

Punic Wars-New Project-Libyan

Not being one to sit idle at work I found a bag of Veteran Libyan Spearmen so I thought I would paint them.

Here are 48 Verteran Libyans, they are Corvus Belli miniatures, as is most of of my Carthaginian army.

These are the first of the veterans.

These are only a small part of an already painted collection representing Carthaginian, Numidian, Spanish and Gallic armies ready to face off against the evil Roman Republic.

I have order of battles for Trebbia and Tresemie which I will organize my 'rebased' collection on.

Punic War Collection....well Part of it

Ok here is the Spanish Army, so far, with a little Punic assistance.
On the board is 272 foot and 50 mounted.  All figures are Corvus Belle, they are great minis and a joy to paint.

Punic infantry, listed under FOG as medium infantry but I have done these in 4s as the are drilled and I will use them as heavy infantry under Hail Caesar.  I have 3 units of these.

Punic cavalry, not sure if they be shielded or unshielded but I am happy with the way they are.

Spanish Scutarii, I have 8 warbands of 6 elements or 6 warbands of 8 elements depending on which way you want to play them.

Catrati light foot, there are a lot of these in the Spanish army.

Slingers, Baleric or otherwise are a main stay of the army.

Cavalry, 'long shield cavalry' as they are called.  Two and a half units present and another one and half unit painted and ready for basing once I get home.

On the right is the light cavalry, there will be a total of three units once completed.

The Spanish are very close to completion, I am in the process of painting up the last 25 mounted figures to make up the light horse and command elements.  Once completed they will be second army to my Punic collection as I have already got a good sized Numidian army.

I have about 8 warbands worth of Celt-Iberians to do but they will be done as a separate part to my Spanish army.

Next up will be main Punic part of the collection.  So Liby-Phonician spearmen, Libyan Skirmisers and elephants.

The final part will be the Gauls, another stand alone army but all part of the greater Punic plan to smash Rome!!

It is a shame that Corvus Bellie did not do Republican Roman to match these ranges...

Finally I would like to thank James Roach of www.olicanalad.blogspot.com fame for his inspirational blog that has driven and guided this project.  Check out his blog is is amazing!

Spanish Light Foots (WIP)

Here we have 64 Spanish light foot block painted and ready for the Army Painter 'Dark Shade'
This will give me 32 FOG elements and that's 12 units in both FOG and Hail Caesar.

64 Spanish Light Foot
Whilst these have been done for my Late Carthaginian Army I hope to paint up enough Spanish to make a stand alone army.
These figures are all Corvus Bellie.  The Late Carthaginian army will be made of figures from this range as I prefer, if possible not to mix ranges in my armies.  I know but just my thing.
All 'block' painted ready for the Army Painter Dark Shade
