Kings of War Varangur Warband

Firstly sorry about the poor quality of the photos, I will get better ones once the figures have been based.
Anyway here are another 25 Varangur warriors that will make up about 3 regiments of Warband or may be a horde and a regiment.
I know that there should be more figures on the base but the size of the old GW warriors mean that 8/9 figures fill it up very nicely.

So more to come....

KoW Abyssal Forces

My slow progress has crawled another step forward.  I have utilized the new bases bases and made a few regiments for my Abyssal Army.

As you can see the figures are GW bought of EBay.  They were all painted to a reasonable level, although some peoples description of their painting levels can be delusional lol!  I had to touch up or finish off minor bits on the figures but I was happy with them.  Once painted I gave them a good wash of Army Painter Dark Tone, as you can guess I do really like this stuff and am very happy with the results.

When the basing was complete they were given a nice spray coat of Army Painter Anti Shine Matt Varnish.

I'm quite happy with the results.

Kings of War Bases

Multibasing Kings of War armies, this is one of the reason I like KoW, the figures are on multi bases representing units and being able to make them look nice.

I started off basing the figures in my usual style, sand and grass but I made the mistake of watch a You Tube video by Luke Fellows (Luke APS https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsmD5774MOQhjYBkXqu3Jdw )

I must admit though I am glad I did the do look the business.  I'm not going to run through the process of making these bases Luke does it far better and explains it very well on his You Tube channel.

This is my first batch.....

28mm Kings of War.....a start!

KoW a Start
I am really keen on fantasy mass battle.  I have tried a couple of supplements to historical rules but why enjoyable to play there was always something missing.  Then last year Kings of War version two came out on Kickstarster, I signed up and I am impressed!

Up until now I have played in 15mm as I have large armies belonging to several factions in that scale and I really like it and love the mass effect of hundreds of figures on the table.  But I am in a minority, especially at my club and most guys play in 28mm, so I thought I better get a start!

Abyssals....
I bought a load of old GW chaos figures off of EBay, I did get some good deals there!  Touched them and then multi based them.

I was happy with the look I had achieved for little effort but then I happen to see some You Tube videos!
I found videos by a guy called Luke Fellows, Luke APS on You Tube, who has made some very good videos on how to produce very good and cheap multi bases, that to be honest put mine to shame!  So when I get home I will be rebasing all my units and making Lke APS style bases!  Good job I have not done many units.....

But that aside here are some more pictures of the Vangarian Warriors...I do like these!

Warriors 1

Warriors 2
There will be more to follow once I have got home and once I have redone the bases!
