15mm Punic Wars Project

A clutch of figures painted for this project.

A unit of Gallic heavy warband and two units of naked fanatics, Gestati(or something like that).  Also a couple of mounted leaders and a cavalry unit.

There is also a mounted skirmish unit of Tarantine horse, a universal mercenary force who will fight for anyone of the right money....

15mm Punic War Project

Italian allies and Gallic chariots.  Etruscan citizen hoplites, these can be used as allies for both the Punic state and Rome itself.

The Gallic chariots, not really used in the Punic Wars but very useful for Gallic tribes against Rome or Carthage or indeed against each other.

Above and below the Etruscan citizen hoplites.  These form heavy foot units.

The figures are War and Empire and the shield decal are Little Big Man

 

Gallic chariots, I do like these and quite quick to paint.  I'm not sure of the make of these but I think they are a mix of War and Empire and Corvus Belli

Found time to add to own collections.  This time the ever expanding 2nd Punic War project.

The first two pictures are off Punic Citizen cavalry and two figures for a command stand.  These are Corvus Belli figures as is the majority of my Punic citizen force.

24 Gallic warriors, these will form two 'heavy' warbands 'Soldari'  The figures are from War and Empire

 

 Gallic chariots, not really 2nd Punic Wars but very useful for fighting Romans anyway.

One chariot is Corvus Belli the other War and Empire

Punic Wars Project-Tarantine Horse

A base of Tarantine light horse, these mercenaries can be used by both sides and were quite effective.

They are War and Empire figures, check the,m out a great range.

Punic Wars Project-Gallic Cavalry

Gallic cavalry to boost the ranks of the anti Roman alliance.

War and Empire figures, really nice and fun to paint.

This project will amount to at least 5 separate armies, I already have a completed Numidian one, although they need re-basing.....one day.

Punic Wars Project-Italian States

More Italian allies added to the inventory, a base of 6 cavalry, CM in Imputvs terms.

These are Etruscan Cavalry by War and Empire.

A third up date for the day, this time a unit of heavy infantry provided by the Etruscan Italian state.  these represent hopolite style infantry and could be used by both sides in the conflict.

Out of my 'pick n mix' box came a bag of Campanion Light Horse.  These are for my Punic Wars collection and I suppose could represent both sides during this conflict.

The miniatures are from the very good War and Empire range.

They will be based once home on an 80x60 Imputvs CL base.

New Project for 2019..

Ok I know 2019 is a long way off but West Wind Productions, War and Empire have recently released their third Kickstarter, Dark Ages.  The miniatures are fantastic.  I supported their first two kickstarters and bought Punic Wars Roman and Sassanid Persians and they did not disappoint!  So when the third one announced I signed up.......

The kickstarter was funded in hours and I missed out on the "Early Bird" special but that did not put me off. So i signed up for the Emperor bid and have already worked out my order, yes keen I know.

So I have opted for three armies Norman, Anglo-Saxon and Viking plus an Anglo-Saxon village of 5 buildings.....this little project amounts to 80 horse, 800 foot and the village all for the princely sum of $264 (it is Pounds Sterling not Dollars but I'm using my work laptop which is from the US lol)
