15mm Fantasy-Plague Horde

I have continued my drive to re-purpose GW fantasy figures.  This time I have created a Plague Horde using Plague Bearers and Nurglings, I really love the look of these figures and they will fit in great with my collections.

The Nurglings will be a melee unit with a poisoned range attack ability.  the poison ability will either give a bonus in attack or a minus to the defender.

The Pleague Bearers are Large Infantry and will have a re-rejuvenate ability like trolls.

15mm Fantasy Demon Horde

Again not really 15mm figures but they will do a great job with their immense size coupled with their great speed and agility...

Now these corrupted demon spawn are a fusion of arachnid and demonette that make a dreadful sight as well as a formidable foe.

I would love to take credit for these wonderful figure, however, I can not!!  I bought them off of EBay exactly as you see them.  I all I have done is based them to match my existing collections.

Mutants

The last picture from my initial painting surge.
A 4 base unit of 'Mine Mutants', these deformed beings and their ancestors have worked for generations in the chemical mines in the remote parts of Stygia.  This has resulted in twisted bodies and extra limbs!
They fight as a large warband but of dubious quality.
As well as Stygia these poor souls could also be dragged into the Demon Army

More Troops Ready for Battle

More of the finished elements that I have done.

Two bases of Acolytes, these could be double hatted and used it at least two of my armies The Demon Army and the Stygian Army.
The figures are Demonworld from their Ishtak range

More of the awesome Black Orcs, three bases worth of the large imposing figures by Blood Dawn. They are great miniatures and the Black Orc tribes form the shock troops of any good Orc Warlords horde.

Orc Crossbow, a basic missile unit able to give the Orcs a little stand off capability not that they stand off much.  Could be useful to soften up the defenders of Human and Dwarf field fortifications or disrupt Human and Elf cavalry.
These are Demonworld figures

15mm Fantasy

Sorry for the delay the real world and work have interrupted my postings. Here are just some 'action' scenes from the Black Powder fantasy game we had many weeks ago.
Since then I have had my first game of Hail Caesar and really enjoyed it, I feel it will transfer well to the fantasy mass battle field, I should not be surprised by this due to it's origins and author!

In future posts I will put up pictures of my latest fantasy project, 15mm Dwarves and also add the HC stats I have come up with. As always comments are welcome and any thought on the stats would be appreciated.

The Goblins go in, a strong line of giant spiders supported by the goblins best infantry. Unfortunately they never actually made it in to contact with the enemy so they have yet to test their metal or should that be fur!!
This was the scene on the Orc and Goblins' right flank, the mosquitos came out of the woods, they were surprisingly effective! But they should be as the models are lovely! lol
The village was one of the objectives in this game, fliers could not 'occupy' the village but it gave the Uruk Hai food for thought!
As above but from my glorious Uruk Hai side!!

Last pic shows the Warg Riders (Eureka minis from Fighting 15s, lovely!!) charge home against the skeleton line. This was a successful action giving the Wargs plenty of fresh bones to chew on in celebration.

That's all folks! Next fantasy battle report will be using Hail Caesar rules!!

Fantasy Armies

Here are the battle lines drawn up during a demo game at PAW 2008.

The two sides are Hordes of the Pits (Demons) and Beastmen.

I use many ranges including GW, Demonworld, Ral Patha (both of which are no longer produced 'shame'), Fighting 15s and Pendraken.  basicly I will use any figures that fit.  It adds to the 'Fantasy' look of it all.

These are from the Horde From the Pit, basicly a Demon style army.  The figures used in the army come from many different companies.  The 'Juggars' on the left are used as 'Bohemoths'.

I use a modified Principles of War Ancients rules.  These have not been published but are free in their Yahoo Group.  My home made Fantasy additions amount to about two sides of A4 at the moment.  The basic rules and the fantasy add ons do good a rather good game!  I have uploaded the Fantasy additions in the file section of the Yahoo Group.

Here is a view from the Hordes Of The Pits
looking at their Beastman opponent!  The temple was one of the battle 'objectives'.  In the Beastman line you can see  Warhammer Minators, who are giants at this scale and Demonworld Bear Riders.
