15mm Punic Wars Project

A clutch of figures painted for this project.
A unit of Gallic heavy warband and two units of naked fanatics, Gestati(or something like that).  Also a couple of mounted leaders and a cavalry unit.

There is also a mounted skirmish unit of Tarantine horse, a universal mercenary force who will fight for anyone of the right money....

Gallic Nobels, ready to lead the wildmen to battle

Gallic cavalry, a very useful unit who can fight on both sides or among themselves

Naked fanatics....

 Heavy Warband

Tarantine, mercenary light horse.....

Sorry about the bad pictures they were taken on an IPad in poor lighting.  Better ones will follow once they have been based.

15mm Punic War Project

Italian allies and Gallic chariots.  Etruscan citizen hoplites, these can be used as allies for both the Punic state and Rome itself.
The Gallic chariots, not really used in the Punic Wars but very useful for Gallic tribes against Rome or Carthage or indeed against each other.

Above and below the Etruscan citizen hoplites.  These form heavy foot units.
The figures are War and Empire and the shield decal are Little Big Man

Gallic chariots, I do like these and quite quick to paint.  I'm not sure of the make of these but I think they are a mix of War and Empire and Corvus Belli

15mm Punic War Project

Found time to add to own collections.  This time the ever expanding 2nd Punic War project.

The first two pictures are off Punic Citizen cavalry and two figures for a command stand.  These are Corvus Belli figures as is the majority of my Punic citizen force.

24 Gallic warriors, these will form two 'heavy' warbands 'Soldari'  The figures are from War and Empire

Gallic chariots, not really 2nd Punic Wars but very useful for fighting Romans anyway.
One chariot is Corvus Belli the other War and Empire

Punic Wars Project-Gauls

More Gallic skirmishers this time with bow.  I will have far too many skirmishers but they may come in useful in an inter Gallic tribal war.....or as allies for the  evil 'want a be' empire, the Romans.

These guys are for two bases of warband, these would be the 'medium foot' style of warband.  The figures are from the now, sadly OOP, Corvus Belli range

Punic Wars Project-Gauls

Gallic skirmishers/javelinmen.  Under the Imputvs basing scheme these will make four four man units.

The figures are the very nice War and Empire, there are lots more Gauls to come.  The aim is to have a very large Gallic collection, not that I like big figure collections lol, to be able to do Gallic Tribal wars and add allies to the Romans.

Punic Wars Project-Gallic Cavalry

Gallic cavalry to boost the ranks of the anti Roman alliance.
War and Empire figures, really nice and fun to paint.

This project will amount to at least 5 separate armies, I already have a completed Numidian one, although they need re-basing.....one day.

Romans and Gauls

Yes more Romans, they just keep coming!!  But I've coloured them with some Gauls...

Nothing new to say about the Romans but the Gauls are a little different.

These are two bases of skirmishers, young boys with javelins and older men with sling.
Corvus Belli figures

Marian Roman Commission and Punic Wars Project-Gauls

The latest off of the painting table another group of Roman Legionaries and the first two chariots, one base, for the Punic Wars Gauls.  I know that the Gauls did not use chariots by the time Hannibal invaded but but they did use them to fight the Romans just before Hannibal arrived.

More pointy thing throwing Romans

 The Gauls chariots.
Here I have drilled the feet of the crew and glued in pins to hold them in place.  They were trimmed before gluing.

The two chariots on their base 80mmx60mm.  They are from War and Empire and Corvus Belli, I think.
