10mm Russian Seven Years War

A little bit of variety for this post and a return to an old project.  I have added more Russian regiments to my collection based on the Russian army at the battle of Zorndorff.

Below we have 220 infantrymen and 4 mounted generals.

All figures are from the great Pendraken range and flags were self printed, apart from the very bad grenadier ones which i had to hand paint, very badly lol

10MM Seven Years War Russians

So after the Giant army I went the opposite way and returned to some 10mm Seven Years Wars.  As part of my Seven Years War collection I'm building the Russian army for the battle of Zorndoff.
So lots of red uniforms.....and quite a few cossacks.

Here are a few pictures of the batch I painted
9 Generals
 9 Horse Grenadiers
40 Grenadiers
120 Musketeers

Sorry for the bad pics, IPad.

10mm Seven Years War Russian

Just a very quick update, only one unit of Russian Cuirassiers, Prince Fedorovich.
Again the standard Russian Cuirassier uniform.

10mm Seven Years War

I have not painted 10mm Seven Years War for ages but a few packs fell in to my hands out of my 'lucky dip box' (I bag my figures for my ongoing projects into units and put them all into a big plastic tub and blind pic what to paint).  It just so happens that I got three bags in a row this time around.

The whole batch.  In front are 5 Russian Generals.

The Novotroiskiy Cuirassier, now all Russian cuirassiers in this period look the same.  Buff coats, red saddle cloths and black cuirass.
The only thing that marks the regiments apart are the colours of their standards, this regiments colour is green.

The 2nd and 3rd Battalions of the Observation Corps Grenadiers.  the Observation Corps wore standard infantry uniform except for their boots, they had been issued with black dragoon boots, the dragoons where being reorganised at the start of the war.

All figures are from Pendraken, my only (very small) moan, more of a exhale is the cast on flags and this is only because I am not a very good, in fact I'm rubbish, at freehand painting lol

Seven Years War Russian

I am putting new life into an old project, but very slowly lol

These are 3 8pdr Unicorn guns for the Russian armies of the Seven Years War.  I am re-looking at my SYW collection and beginning to arrange armies on actual Orbats.  I'n not sure which battle I will base the Russians on

As always these are the great Pendraken minis

10mm Seven Year Wars

The final bits of my Austrians, the Senior Officers.

The Mounted Army command for the Austrians

 Lovely little sculpts from Pendraken.

The real beginning of my Russians.  I started with 3 Hussar Regiments, they certainly are a colourful bunch!
 The Bolgarskiy Hussars, all yellow.

 Serbskiy Hussars, all blue.

Gruzinskiy Hussars, a nice yellow and red combination.

 Cossacks....

 Lifeguard and Prince Fedoronvitch Cuirassiers.

All Russian Cuirassier regiments wore identical uniforms, but they do look good in their buff coats.
Russian line infantry in their summer uniforms, red coats and white gaiters.  Only the drummer is in full, green uniform.
Line Grenadiers, the same as musketeers but with mitre hats.

There are lots more Russians to come!

Commission Work FOW Russians

Commissar
Officers and Commissar to lead the brave men of the Soviet Union!

Officers and Commissar

Assault Engineers
The assault engineers are the heavily armed assault troops of the Red Army that lead the way when taking on the stubborn defenses of the German Fatherland.

A group shot of what I have painted in this session. 28 elements of Assault Engineers, 8 elements of Ivans (infantry), 4 HMGs, 4 Medium Mortars and 6 commanders a total of 261 figures.

These are the latest part of a commisson given to me by a PAW club memeber Al.  He has amassed a very large WW2 Russian collection for both FOW and Bolt Action.

15mm Bolt Action Russians

Ok a few close ups of the individual infantry and twin based support weapons.

1st Post of 2014

Well here we are again, I am on my way home after a very busy painting period at work.
First up is a painting commission for my fellow PAW member Al Cox, he wanted a few Russians for 15mm Bolt Action.  He gave me a box of unpainted lead and I turned them into 320 battle ready Ivans...
Above is the whole gang, below a small close up shot.
