All For Now

Well that is my batch posting for this session.  I hope to do some work on my armies whilst I'm home and we have the PAW show on the first weekend of February, if you can get to Devon you will not be disappointed.

Comments on my posts are always welcome, it is nice to know what others think.

Have fun.

15mm Fantasy, Stygian Royal Army

The backbone of the Stygian Royal Army, 3 regiments of shielded pike.  Heavy infantry with long spears forming a solid wall in defense and an unstoppable tide on the offensive!

Eventually these guys will be backed up by bowmen and slingers, as well as lighter armed foot spear.

The cavalry arm will get several regiments of Guard Lancers and some medium and light horse as well.

I have used Xyston 'Egyptian Marines" from their Persian range.

15mm Fantasy Stygian Royal Army and Barbarians

Some fresh units for my fantasy collection, this time the Stygian Royal Army, these are the devil worshipers from the southern lands.
The army is vast with many races and creeds represented on the field but heart of any large Stygian force if the Royal Army.

The core of their cavalry are armored lancers, heavy impact cavalry that can smash a lesser foe and they consider all non Stygian lesser beings!

These figures are Xyston Achamid Persian Guard Cavalry

The commanders, one for the foot and one for the horse.

The wild men of the north....Barbarians!

 Show me your WAR FACE!!

These are wild, naked men very vicious and very brutal!
They also like the colour blue.......

Again the great Xyston range, this time Gauls.  One thing I have learnt from these Barbarians, you have to repaint the eyes, they all look like the are closed when painted blue!

A Very British Civil War British Union of Fascists (BUF)

The second faction I have started for AVBCW if the British Union of Fascists (BUF).  These are the of  disciples of Oswald Mosely and supporters of the King Edward and Mrs Simpson.

A light armored section sent over from the BUF's friends in Germany 4 Panzer 1s

The standard Pz1 showing it's BUF colours.

 The Troop Commander

And waste not want not......lost it's turret in action and has been adapted as a self propelled anti tank gun!

Here the tank is equipped with 2pdr gun providing mobility to tank killing!

BUF Big Wig in his Staff Car complete with a Hotckiss machine gun!

A regular British Army tank regiment shows it's allegiance to the BUF cause.

Many regular and territorial units chose sides when the conflict split the country.
Above are two Cruiser tanks.

 Two Matilda infantry support tanks.

On to the BUF Militia, a squad from Exeter, not the Spanish style Fascist uniforms.

A 2pdr gun deployed to add some bang!

And Hotchkiss machine guns in the heavy and light role.

 BUF Stormtroopers!

These guys carry submachine guns.....light machine guns...

and lots of grenades!!

These are the hardcore fanatics are used to spearhead the assault.

A Very British Civil War (AVBCW) Anglican League

So a new project for 2014 for my gaming pleasure a small venture into the world of 1938 Britain were a civil war rages between many factions.

The first faction I have started with is the Anglican League.  Led by the Church of England Hierarchy spreading the word of God through out he ravaged lands.

The first batch of armored support

A section of Tankettes originally from the Soviet Union they have been pressed into service by the League.  No one is quite sure where they came from but they must be a gift from God!
This Matilda was picked up from a British Army Depot, with the addition of League symbols it is ready to spread the good word!
A Putalov Armoured car, it looks like someone has been buying up Spanish Civil War surplus.

Tankette section commander

The first section of League infantry proudly displaying the flag of the Tiverton field force.  As you can see a very strong French influence to their uniform and equipment.

Here are the support weapons for the Senegalese Tralliers that have 'volunteered' from the French Army.  I have painted up a full platoon of these guys for WW2 Bolt Action, the standard bearer is just for AVBCW obviously!

15mm Bolt Action Russians

Ok a few close ups of the individual infantry and twin based support weapons.

1st Post of 2014

Well here we are again, I am on my way home after a very busy painting period at work.
First up is a painting commission for my fellow PAW member Al Cox, he wanted a few Russians for 15mm Bolt Action.  He gave me a box of unpainted lead and I turned them into 320 battle ready Ivans...
Above is the whole gang, below a small close up shot.

2013/14

Hi All and Happy New Year....

So a look back at 2013, well not a lot of gaming but quite a lot of painting.....I did not realise how much until I added up my yearly total and well I was quite productive.  I must admit it is the one advantage of working overseas away from the family and needing to fill my lonely hours!

So the tally for 2013
15mm Infantry-965
15mm Cavalry-327
15mm Vehicles/Artillery etc-13
10mm Infatry-416

If only I could concentrate on one project at a time it would be very fruitful! lol

So looking at 2014 the painting train has already left the station and for some reason has begun with 15mm A Very British Civil War and a Bolt Action commission.
But what do I want to achieve this year, gaming wise?
Playing more games would be good.  get some of those vast and lovely(well I think so) 15mm fantasy armies out on the table.
Painting wise? I have a new 15mm Mid Republican Roman Army, it will be my War and Empire figures from their very successful Kickstarter, this will be to oppose my Carthaginian Army.
Restart and repaint my 6mm Sci Fi armies, mainly GW Epic Imperial Guard and Dark Realms Pax Arcadian, not sure what rules to use yet but I do have the choice of NetEpic, Future War Commander or Hammer Slammers, we shall see.
And of course the unending and much loved 15mm fantasy.  I have a new tribe of Goblins to paint up, that's about 300 foot, 100 wolf riders and a few chariots....nice!
And I will, inevitably, be distracted by other 'shiny things' along the way.

But to one and all enjoy your gaming and painting year, I look forward to hearing from you.....
