6mm SciFi Mitusbishi Heavy Indiustry Coporation: Quick Painting Guide

I have been inspired by Brigade Models' (www.brigademodels.co.uk) release of 6mm Hammer Slammers.  David Drake's Slammers have always been SciFi favorite of mine and I have read all the books, so when Tony at Brigade started producing Slammers in 6mm (my choice for SciFi gaming) I was in!

Now I already had manged to compile a reasonable selection of Slammers' vehicles so at Blastatic this year I picked up some opposition for them.

I chose Brigade Models Merc minis, they are very nice looking models and would suite my background just fine.

The models represent the military arm of the Mitsubishi Heavy Industry Corporation, in the 20th and 21st centuries this was the weapons manufacturing section of the Mitsubishi empire.

Below is a step by step guide to how I speed painted them. I am happy with the result and manged to complete the whole force in under two weeks.

Shoei Heavy Tank Turrets

Shoei tank bodies and a Wizard Jeep

1.  For the base coat I used Army Painter spray, 'Army Green'.

I also painted the under side skirts Citadel 'Layer' Skavenblight Dinge.

 2. The base coat was followed by a heavy drybrush of Citadel 'Layer' Elysian Green

3. Once  dry the turrets and bodies were given a wash of Army Painter Dark Tone Ink

I used the ink for the first time.  I chose it over the Army Painter Quickshade as I thought it might be too heavy for the 6mm miniatures.

4.  A second, lighter drybrush, using the same colour as before was added to bring out the details and edging of the models.

The finished heavy tank company waiting to be based.  Once based they will be given a coating of Army Painter Anti Shine Matt Varnish

Next up I will show the other companies in my force.
