10mm 7 Years War

More additions to the Seven Year War project, two Reichsarmee units and two Hanovarian units for the Allied Pragmatic Army.

As with the previous Russians I have manged to find and print up some free flags off the Interweb!

 Hanoverian Combined Grenadiers.  Hanoverian foot regiments had only a small company of grenadiers each.  So this combined regiment is made up of four separate detachments from regiments 3A Knesdenberg, 6A Hardenberg, 10A Post and 13A Halberstadt.

I love the Reichesarmee, they have a varied selection of uniforms and look great on the table....well painting table so far! lol

10mm Seven Years War

Just two units to show this time, both representing the Reichsarmee.  When I mentioned that I was painting these troops on the Seven Years War Wargaming Facebook page, people laughed as they die really easily in almost every set of rules....but I just like them! lol

Seven Years War 15mm WIP

The beginnings of my Reichsarmee Army for Maurice.  Here are 5 infantry regiments and 2 cavalry regiments.  The army will be a collection of different states that made up this very eclectic army.  It makes for a very colourful force on the battle field.

I have followed my usual painting routine of base coat, pick out the details and the brush on Army Painter Dark Tone, however I did run out and as I am overseas working at the minute they will have to wait until I get home.

As the army is for use with Maurice they are on 30x30mm bases and 4 bases to a regiment.  I will also be able to use them with Black Powder, which is a rule set that i do like.

Here you can see an example of a 'dipped' base against a raw base, I do like the effect, it looks better in the flesh.  For me the Dip offers a quick and simple way to add a bit of depth and tone to the figures.

I aim to have this army finished quite quickly and end up with 6 Reichsarmee infantry regiments a couple of Austrian Grenadiers to add support, 7 cavalry regiments and 5 artillery pieces.

Should be good when  its all done.

Seven Year War

Ok a group of us at PAW and our Exmouth brothers are going to do a series of games in the Seven Year War period using Sam Mustapha's Maurice rules.  Now a couple of guys already have armies representing some of the combatants, the major armies Britain, France, Prussia.

I have chosen The Reichsarmee, a collection of small German states that have allied themselves with the Holy Roman Empire or Austria.

They wear a mix of Prussian and Austrian style uniforms and will make a great contingent on the table.

So my first unit is the Ansbach Dragoons, part of the Franconian forces.

The paint job was fairly quick and easy on these, although I am happy with the result.

I sprayed them white, then did the horses and horse furniture followed by the rider.  Once dry they are given a wash of Army Painter Dark Tone.
