Kings of War Varangur Warband

Firstly sorry about the poor quality of the photos, I will get better ones once the figures have been based.
Anyway here are another 25 Varangur warriors that will make up about 3 regiments of Warband or may be a horde and a regiment.
I know that there should be more figures on the base but the size of the old GW warriors mean that 8/9 figures fill it up very nicely.

So more to come....

KoW Abyssal Forces

My slow progress has crawled another step forward.  I have utilized the new bases bases and made a few regiments for my Abyssal Army.

As you can see the figures are GW bought of EBay.  They were all painted to a reasonable level, although some peoples description of their painting levels can be delusional lol!  I had to touch up or finish off minor bits on the figures but I was happy with them.  Once painted I gave them a good wash of Army Painter Dark Tone, as you can guess I do really like this stuff and am very happy with the results.

When the basing was complete they were given a nice spray coat of Army Painter Anti Shine Matt Varnish.

I'm quite happy with the results.

Tiny Tin Troop Bases

From my last post I forgot to say the bases are from Tony at Tiny Tin Troops.  These are cut form good quality MDF and come pre magnetized which is a great time and money saver.
If he does not advertise the size you are after, call him he will happily custom cut some for you.

I have ordered many sizes from Tony from the large KoW bases below to small 20mmx20mm for my 10mm 7YW armies.  The quality and service is always been the same, excellent!

Kings of War Bases

Multibasing Kings of War armies, this is one of the reason I like KoW, the figures are on multi bases representing units and being able to make them look nice.

I started off basing the figures in my usual style, sand and grass but I made the mistake of watch a You Tube video by Luke Fellows (Luke APS https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsmD5774MOQhjYBkXqu3Jdw )

I must admit though I am glad I did the do look the business.  I'm not going to run through the process of making these bases Luke does it far better and explains it very well on his You Tube channel.

This is my first batch.....

10mm Terrain

Why I spend a lot of time painting up figures I do neglect the table top.....so I was looking around for 10mm terrain and was a little shocked at the cost of 10mm terrain, even seemingly simple things like hedges and walls.
So I took some inspiration form Luke Fellows, he has a You Tube Channel Luke APS
 ( https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsmD5774MOQhjYBkXqu3Jdw )

So simple start, these are 'Art Sticks' from Hobby Craft, cost a couple of pounds and got about 100 of them.
I did try sealing them with watered down PVA hoping to prevent warping but it did not really work.  But the sticks are very easy to reshape flat if they do warp.

Applied a good coating of flock, a mix of different colours and sizes which I cant remember as it was mixed ages ago.

The hedging material, Clump Flock, dark, mid and light green and also a light green 'woodlands floor' I that is what it is called but its a little smaller than the others.

I did try using a hot glue gun to stick the flock to the bases but I did not get on with it.  So instead I just used a cheap superglue gel.  I then just dumped the mixed flock on and pressed it down.

The first six strips, you can't see it clearly but there are 'corner' pieces where the flock is angled off.  Ive also left a gap on one strip to allow access lol.

And here is a troops eye view!  These are 10mm League of Augsburg,  who can see and shoot over the hedge!

May Update

Yes I know it's nearly the end of June but I spent most of May and the first half of June at home with the family and family and real life tend to take over! lol

But I'm back at work and back at the painting table, however I did manage to do a few small things at home........
